Together with their families its likely that the Public sector workers in Ireland represent almost one quarter of the population. The public sector makes up a huge part of the Irish economy. What's for sure is that if they attack wages and cut jobs then that means less custom in the shops, less taxes and more crisis. Its mad house economics. The Government are determined to make us pay for the crisis.
The following link to the ICTU site gives the details of the demonstrations, the routes and start and end points: http://www.getupstandup.ie/
We'd urge all of our readers and supporters to take part in the demos and also to send us reports and pictures. We have to make these demos count. The government are tryin g to hold the line. We have to build on the enormous strength of feeling among workers and build next for the November 24th strikes.
Turn out and turn up on November 6th!
Make 24th November a one day Public Sector General Strike!
